Hello TC:E players,

since it became clear that there will be no new version of TC:E released and me and my friends didn't found any really similar game (commercial or not), I've decided to start developing own game that is very inspired from TC:E. This was in April 2007. Now we have fully playable public alpha version available.

It's built completely from scratch using custom created engine that is designed and optimized for the game, using the experience gained by actively playing in a clan (Quick Arrows) for two years. This affects the engine design in some parts like precise hit testing instead of using hit boxes common in other games or latency (ping) handling.

The development is continuous and from May 2009 (when the engine was solid enough to be used in a real game) to today 11 alpha versions were produced and this trend continues. This is possible by working on it as half-time job. The goal is to create really good game that is actively supported many years.

I tested this is out, but I need a few m8ts to join as you cant wonder around by your self.

NOTE : please add an inverted mouse option I need it.

from what Ive seen it plays smooth, no bullshit options or screens to wade through.

If you use TCE and its values as your goal, you wont go wrong, congrats on a great start.

Amazing result for a single man project (especially lightings and texture rendering).
I had the fun to meet you on the server and have some tests, the project worth to be supported !!
When you finished the details maybe you could release something so people could create maps ? (maybe not easy :s)

New version is available: it brings explosive grenades to the arsenal among with many bug fixes and small features. There is no need to manually apply this update, just run the game and it will be auto-downloaded.

Hopefully this version will also fix problem with players testing the game, but each one coming at different time to the server. So many people couldn't test the game. The solution is in defining certain hours so players can gather easier. I've defined 16:00 and 20:00 CET, you can also try to join server at beginning of each hour. This is also presented directly in the game when no one is on the server.

- Fixed crashing on some video cards
- Disabled initialization of display/sound in dedicated server
- Fixed crashing of server when bad packet arrives
- Shortened prepare time from 12 to 8 seconds
- Added better logging of player connects/renames/disconnects
- Fixed footstep sounds for other players
- Added notification of team change
- Added support for colors in message list
- Added team chat
- Added ability to move just by tiny amount when short tapping the movement keys
- Added invert mouse option
- Added vsync and FPS limiter options
- Fixed occasional death when falling from top of stairs
- Added unlimited number of magazines to engine test
- Added explosive grenades
- Bomb explosion now causes death
- Added notice when no people are playing
- Added ability to start running from crouching, also fixed crouch toggle

Stable 30 FPS with an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.7GHz winny vista and ATI Radeon HD 4850 Series..

The movement is a bit slow but its a very preprepre alpha so..
