Some numbers are still alive, saying "hi" to the folks ;)

Glad to see so you all! I just thought about TC few days ago and started crawling my older backups. I couldn't believe that I saved the Quake III path an TC installed as of 2006/2007. I immediately started the game in hope some servers does exist.

Unfortunately no servers up. Would love to hit a round or two. Ahhh Bahamut.. never experienced a better game after TC.

Hi 17!

Good to see another old-school TC player! I once read about some q3tc players playing on openarena, and I'm afraid that the fading community got spread among the various quake 3, ioquake3, openarena versions, which didn't help to keep it together...

Last year I put together a slightly botched but working standalone version of good old True Combat, and there was no response from the community.

DOWNLOAD HERE

I'd be very happy if you could download it, and help fixing the few bugs it has. Notably, it sometimes refuses to load a map, and displays an error message talking about an "unsupported color conversion". I think it could be fixed just by changing the palette.tga file (I might be wrong), unfortunately I don't have time to work on a project if nobody appears to care.

Also, the quake3 master server is offline, which means you cannot browse online servers, however you can play and browse servers on LAN, and you can connect directly to an IP address.

If you have any suggestions, I'm curious to read about them!

I just downloaded all the versions here I could. I still have them stashed away somewhere on my cd backups from years ago. I hadn't played .45 in years, but it's what got me hooked on this game. I had forgotten how much atmosphere the maps had. We've certainly improved the graphics but (I hope I remember the name right) maps like Urban Assault really have something special. The grunge, the slime, the dirt,,,,. It's a great place to kill (and die). And I also remembered stuff like how unbalanced the weapons were. If I recall correctly using the G-36 would get you booted pretty quickly. It was the noob cannon of the community. Anyway, good to see the names of people I had a lot of fun with. I hope life is treating you well.
