Post subject:  Easily Create TrueCombat VLAN parties using Evolve Tutorial

Hey everyone!

Today I want to share this tutorial with You all, about:

"How to easily join a TrueCombat VLAN match with your friends using Evolve."

1- You're gonna need the Evolve client which You can download from here.
2- And of course an active Evolve account.

So let's start!

PART 1:

The first part of this tutorial is aimed at the person that will act as the host of the VLAN party. If You want to join a party that has already been created check part 2 of this tutorial.

So, after you've logged into the Evolve client, point your mouse to the red "Evolve" button that's on the top of the client, click it and select "Create party".

A message requesting your permission to install Evolve's VLAN adapter will pop-up, you should allow the installation Evolve is completely safe.

Wait a few seconds for the installation to finish. When it’s done go to options menu.

Now, Since you’re gonna be the person hosting the “Server” you should select the game you’re creating the party for. In this case I’ll use TCE but you can use this feature for any online game.

After selecting your game, you’ll have to select the type of party that you want, there are three options:

    1. Host game: This is for when you want to create your own party/server with your own rules or limitations.
    2. Find game: If you select “Find game” Evolve will attempt to match you with other players that have created public parties for the same game that you selected. *Check part 2 of this tutorial for more information about this.*
    3. Private game: If you don’t want extrangers joining your party, this option is for you.

When you’re done setting up your party, open TCE or your preffered game and join a map or map list you want, with your own TCE content or server/game configurations.

After spawning in your map, open Evolve in-game overlay by hitting “Windows key (default)” on your keyboard, go to your party window and invite people from your friends list or from a group you’re part of.

That’s why I asked you guys long time ago to join TrueCombat Mods Fans group on Evolve! So we can find each other whenever we’re playing any TC game. You also have the options to invite through Facebook, Twitter and Reddit or with your recruit link.

Finally, after everyone has joined your party they just have to right-click on the IP address that’s on the side of your profile pic, copy the IP address, open TCE and connect xxx.xxx.xxx.xx to that IP. You can even use this IP to create dedicated LAN or internet servers and they will appear on the deployment menu but that’s for advanced server admins, this tutorial is meant for Evolve newbies.

You friends will join the map or map list you spawned in and that’s it. Now you don’t have excuses to play TrueCombat online anymore. :pistols:

Part 2:

This part of the tutorial will explain another method your friends can use to join your party.

After the host of the party has finished setting up the options he can enable the “matchmaking” option located on the top of the party window:

Image

This will make your party visible for your friends and everyone else on Evolve’s multiplayer room:

Your friends will see 1 player is looking for a TCE match, if they click on the red button that says “find match” they will join your party; in the given case you’re the only one looking for a match on Evolve. If it happens to be more than 1 player looking for a TCE match at the same time, Evolve will select a random party for you.

When you enter the party room repeat the same steps described above. Copy IP and connect.

Well, I think that’s all, if you have any question feel free to ask and remember you can always add me as a friend on Evolve as rBok6. Cheers and have fun with your friends! :)
