After months of preparation and grunt work (thanks merlin), we are pleased to present the Third Party Mapping Depot right here on the TCE site!

What is the Map Depot?
The Map Depot (and no, we aren't talking about the map: Depot :P) is a place where our fabulous community members can showcase their maps - and give the community a place to download them... all in one spot!

Image

I have 3rd Party TCE Maps!
Great! If you have them - we want them! If you are a mapper, you can easily upload your map to the TCE website - along with several screenshots and a description.

If you have an account at the TCE forums - then you have an account at the Map Depot and are free to upload all of your maps (and you can edit the map description/screenshots for your own uploads).

It's important that you carefully read the requirements for uploading maps on the Submit Map page - as we have some restrictions.

Features
Below are some features we've added to the Map Depot:
Maintained by 3rd party mappers - so you don't have to wait for some site admin to update their download page, etc.
Mappers have control over their submission - if you upload a map... you can always edit (or even delete) the contents of it.
Rating system - members can rate maps positively (+) or negatively (-) based on their experiences
And more! - browse the Depot to see for yourself!

Where can I find the Map Depot?
The official TCE Third Party Map Depot (and the obj map Depot ;)) can from now on be found in the following places:

TCE Downloads Page
Link on the Third Party Development category on TCE forums
www.truecombatelite.com/mapdepot

We need your help!
We've tried to add as many custom maps as we could - but we know we are missing a lot!

If you see a map missing on here - and the mapper is mia/inactive - please, please, please take the initiative and upload it here!

Thank you to everyone who is still contributing to/playing the game to keep it alive!

VIVE TCE!

Great! Merlin rules! maybe separate section for other TCE related downloads (merlins TS viewer, ET minimizer and so on)? Links to doanload sites to TS and such, tweak manuals, PB updates etc? Kinda "all-in-one"-portal?
:D

Yep some kinda "TCE Stuff Area" would be nice since the forum is more spamish, getting direct and clean links in the website would be nice.

Nice job Diana & the others.

One thing at a time, sir ;)

But yes that does sound plausible to put things like the TS viewer, ET minimizer etc. on the Downloads page - I don't really see a need for a separate section (ie. too many extra pages) for stuff like that.

My thoughts about this project cant be expressed better than Stealth, simons and ED already have, so i will just go the cheap road and quote them:

There is only 1 thing, i would like to suggest to be added if even possible. A box where you can choose how many maps to be listed on each page (f.e 10, 20, 50)

Yes - I believe if you upload a duplicate map there will be a message saying the map already exists - so there won't be any issue of having the same titled map multiple times.

But before you go through that hassle, you could always just search if the map is there. The title of the map is the pk3 file name.

jup, when you hit submit on the form and have javascript enabled you get a message when the map already exists

edit: that check happens before you start uploading, so no worries waisting minutes just for a map already exists notice
