Hi all, and thanks to Diane for activating this account :D

I am a bit confused and i don't understand if there's a chance to play True Combat (both elite and close quarter battle) online in the future;

I know that this two amazing games had lost a lot of players in the last year, but i would ask if the game is under development;

I really like this type of gameplay and under Linux there is only one FPS that is so much realistic, so i hope that True Combat rise again!

Of course i'm sorry for this very bad english

Thank to all that are going to reply this thread

cheers! :D

It didn't lose players last year, more like since 2009-2011 and
when the sad news came that none of the TC flavors would
ever get an update ever again.

You can still play TC:E on a daily base, there are still people playing,
only thing that bums me out is that the serverlist only shows servers
with people in them. Would be nicer if it just showed ALL the available
servers.

CQB is another story, Coroner is busy on that one again, but don't
put time frames on it, let the man do his job (next to all the other RL things).
Thing now is that you can only play the map that comes with it, no others
are available because it's locked. If it's 'unlocked' people can add maps and
hopefully people will start to play again.

Then there is also Tango Down, which is a remake of TC:E-CQB but
isn't made by the original developers, but by a new team lead by me.

Still not finished, but getting along nicely, imho.

So on the development front things are still moving in a very nice
direction, where hopefully a wide audience can enjoy playing their
beloved game again.

You see, True Combat isn't dead .... IT'S ALIVE
or at least.... we're working hard to bring it back

This is exactly what i want to hear, i'm very glad to know that developers are workin' on this project :D

Of course i knew (by this forum) that tc:e only show servers with at least 1 player, so i wrote down an article on how to connect them, with the hope that someone join this addictive game. :D

I also wrote a simple guide on how to run enemy territory/true combat with alsa/pulse-audio under Linux.

If needed i can translate the guide of alsa/pulse audio, just let me know :D

I'll keep an eye on your thread of course

Thumbs up for TRUE COMBAT!

For those who have problems downloading custom pk3s from servers, I gathered as many of them as I could and put them here :

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jpo473w82kdp1ih/XCB7hNkit6

Just download the files you need straight to your "tcetest" folder.

DO NOT put them ALL in your game folder, as they will conflict with each other. Just take those you need/want.

Cheers

If you want to check quickly if there are people playing, i suggest checking this server list for TCE :

http://et.splatterladder.com/?mod=serve ... od=tcetest

And CQB (although someone on these forums once described CQB as being the "retarded little brother of TCE, and despite how great it is, I can only agree with this description, and would recommend to stick to TCE) :

Salve!

They haven't been full in a long time, but in the evening (european time, so around midday/early afternoon US time) there are always people playing on on the tce-massa servers or shotzone, as well as some other servers too sometimes. Those listed here :
http://et.splatterladder.com/?mod=serve ... od=tcetest

Would be great to put the active servers in a widget and put it on the website...
Replace the frontpage holders for MWTC for TC:E and CQB servers.

And of course it would be great if the ingame serverbrowser also displayed
empty servers.....

Good luck, have fun. Better grab some food with you while you wait, don't want to die of starvation, do you?
